FeedbackHAWC depends on Feedback from our clients to maintain the high quality of our rent subsidy programs. If you believe one of our residents or a Section 8 tenant or landlord may be violating the letter or spirit of these publicly supported programs, we have created a complaint form that will assist us in gathering the information we would need to correct the situation or terminate the assistance arrangement. It is much easier to resolve a complaint when it is received promptly. It is most helpful if complaints are brought to the attention of HAWC staff within a week if at all possible. The staff person responsible for the program, decision or action in question may contact the person making the complaint to discuss the matter. Feedback or tips often will trigger further investigation and fact gathering on our part. If the complaint results in our taking action to terminate someone's assistance, to treat all parties fairly, HAWC staff provides the tenant with a written summary of the issues raised as well as the proposed disposition of the complaint and the specific reasons for the Authority position, as appropriate. This summary will provide the procedures the tenant would have to follow for requesting a formal hearing if the tenant is not satisfied. It is our goal to help provide decent, safe and affordable housing in Washington County, and these steps are part of our effort to treat each family with dignity and fairness. |
